Thank you! Thank you!

Christina and LaCasa you are both extraordinary women who I have really enjoyed sharing my first blog experience with. Early Childhood is not an easy profession but besides parents we are the best first teachers a child could ever have. We set the foundation for structured learning; we build social, personal, language, cognitive, fine and gross motor skills. I truly believe this and I wish both of the best on your professional journey. Mrs. Callahan, I have really enjoyed this course thank you for your patience and knowledge.I will continue to blog and hope you will do the same.

Code of Ethics

1.We shall demonstrate in our behavior and language respect and appreciation for the unique value and human potential of child.
Being role models is essential to the early childhood professional, children model what they see. Parents also look to teachers for advice on how to handle behavior issues. As teachers we must become familiar with resources so we can advocate for families.

2.We shall advocate for equal access to high quality services and supports for children and families to enhance their quality of lives.
Families cope better when the services show support by providing quality services. A program the offers a loving and caring environment is what families need to enhance their quality of life. A program that is up to date will keep families informed of changes in early childhood and even the community.
3.We shall support professionals new to the field by mentoring them in practice of evidence and ethically based services.
Professionals new to the field need all of the support and resources to be successful. Being selfish in this field will get you nowhere, being able to share ideas or sometimes just be a listening ear will get

My Favorite Quotes !

Hillary Clinton “The best tool you can give a child is shovel” It is about giving our children the skills they need to overcome adversity and to shovel their way out from under whatever life piles on(Clinton 2006)

I like this quote because skills are necessary to be able to survive, and some of these skills can be learned at early ages. Some of skills include social, emotional, cognitive, and language but are not limited to just these skills.  That is why it is important as early childhood professionals we take the time to make sure we are exposing children to environments where their social, and emotional skills can be expanded.

Week 2 Quote: Edge Perspectives with John Hagel:” We often talk about passion, but we tend to use it very loosely”. We usually refer to passion in passing – it is rarely the primary focus of discussion or analysis. (Hagel 2009)

I like this quote because it opened my eyes up to identify the passion that I have to expose pre-school age children a warm loving learning environment. Passion is something that many people tend to put to the side and forget about. I am happy that I have found my passion and I am pursing this passion as far as I can take it.
